My name is Alastair Hannmann, member of the World Pizza Champions and founder of Pizza Buddha Consulting — an international pizza consulting firm. With 20 years experience in both owning & operating pizzerias, back-end documentation, process flow & lean manufacturing and a BSBA in Entrepreneurial Studies/Finance, I found myself in a position where I could offer help to the people in pizza!

Having received certifications from the Artisan Baking Center and Scuola Italiana Pizzaioli in addition to countless hours of R&D in a variety of settings, dough science among one of my biggest passions.

In my travels I am constantly looking out for the latest in pizza equipment, automation, and every day pizzeria tools so that I can offer up-to-date solutions!

My test kitchen is located on the beautiful island of Kauai, HI. If I’m not on the road at your shop, you’ll find me there working to bring out the best in my clients.

Carly Hannmann is the Project Manager and Communications Director for Pizza Buddha Consulting. She left her 15 year career in the specialty coffee industry with a discipline all its own where she built locations, managed & trained teams, and worked as an espresso machine technician to join the pizza industry! As a passionate culinary enthusiast with a critical palate, pizza is now her home.

Since joining the industry, she’s competed in the International Pizza Challenge placing 6th best pizza in the Pan division and 4th best Detroit style pizza. Her competition journey continued to the Columbus Pizza Expo where she place 3rd best Tavern style pizza.

Her role in your journey of consulting starts at the very beginning where she will walk you through the process of what it’s like to work with a pizza consultant. From the first call, menu development, branding strategy and SOP documentation — she’s with you every step of the way!
